2016 / I Was Following You And I Lost Myself
I spent years before I found the snow again and I had no idea how much I had missed it.
I missed this silent companion in peculiar lighting, the weight of its soundless storm, forming a delicate coat. I followed you to Lapland, and together we roamed, trying to chase that point where earth meets sea, where, if nothing lives it survives. We sometimes walked at the same pace and I was often behind, taking time to take it all in, watching your back. After two days of blizzard, we couldn’t see ground from sky. We didn't stop walking, exhilarated, getting fearlessly deeper and deeper into the white cloud. Our steps squeaking in the snow, I was following your footsteps. I was following you and I lost myself.
